Category Definitions Online

The definitions for this years Student Radio Awards are now online.

The awards committee have looked over the categories from last year and made a few changes. Most of the old favourites including Best Station, Best Male and Female, Best Specialist Music Programming and Best Comedy and Drama Programming are still there, but a few new awards have been added and a couple have had a tweak or two.

The new awards are Best Interview and Best Live Event/Outside Broadcast.

Best Marketing/ Branding has been reintroduced after a few years of being split up into "Off-Air Promotions & Imaging" and "Station Sound". The committee felt that as separate awards they were judging different very skills, but felt it was better to judge them a complete package with the winning station demonstrating each element working together.

The committee have also reintroduced Best Sports Broadcasting and Best News & Talk to introduce Best Journalistc Programming. This was due to low levels of entries in the last few years.

With so many changes make sure you have a read of all the definitions clearly before you enter an award.

Click here for full details on all 12 awards.
