Student Radio Diversity

Student Radio offers a unique opportunity for Students from all backgrounds to get involved in radio. Whether you want to get involved to get a step on the ladder of the media industry, want to learn new skills, or just want to have some fun - there should be no obstacles preventing any Student from getting involved at their local station.

The Student Radio Association is committed to promoting equality in student radio and encouraging this within the wider radio industry. Student Radio provides a unique opportunity for Students and other young adults to participate in the radio experience, regardless of sex, race, age, creed, sexuality, ability or political persuasion with none of the boundaries which exist within the professional radio industry. We send representatives to the Radio Industry Diversity Group with the aim of promoting a better understanding of Student Radio within the group - and through our own campaigns to increase awareness and participation in student radio from all sections of society.

If you feel you've met any obstacles getting involved in radio at your university, or feel you've been discriminated against at any of our events or activities; please contact either our development officer or chair who will endeavour to assist in resolving any issues. All requests for assistance will be treated with the highest level of confidence.
