Description: BBC Radio Devon needs an SBJ Programmes - to lead a team and develop on air content.
The station broadcasts from studios in Torquay, Barnstaple and Exeter and is part of a lively bi media newsroom in Plymouth, which is also home to BBC Devon online and BBC Spotlight.
Each day BBC Radio Devon's producers, journalists and presenters create lively audience-focused speech-led output reaching 21% of the county each week.
Reporting to the Editor, the successful applicant will help deliver and develop BBC Radio Devon's new programme schedule, giving producers and presenters focus on audience interests & needs. You will have an ear for exciting ambitious and entertaining content with audience interaction. You will have specific responsibility for weekend and some weekday programmes outside breakfast, ensuring a rich mix of content for our speech-led schedule. You will line-manage presenters, Broadcast Journalists & Broadcast Assistants. In addition the successful applicant will help with specialist projects such as marketing the station to new audiences, rota planning and promotions.
You're likely to already have some management skills, looking to widen your experience, or you'll be an accomplished producer or presenter who's used to developing and motivating others.
