Station Founded 2002The Cat is the radio station for the University of Chester based on the Warrington Campus. It all started about 9 years ago as a simple dream and now it has evolved into what we all know and love today. We are on a 5 year renewable license with Ofcom and we are currently in the third year of a second cycle…so far so good. We are broadcasting at 1 watt on medium wave 1251am as well as streaming mp3 online. The station is funded and run (well, all the paperwork) by the University. It is a key part of the Radio Production course offered at the University of Chester.
