About the Annual General Meeting
Representatives from every SRA member station, as well as all individual members, are invited to attend the Association's Annual General Meeting in Bath on Wednesday 19th March. At the meeting, the Executive Officers will present their annual reports, the Secretery & Finance officer will present the company's accounts, and members will have the chance to vote on new policies.
At the meeting, each station member will have one vote (held by their Station Manager or appointee); as will each member of the Exec. Full guidelines regarding the submission of motions and the format of the meeting can be found in the AGM guidelines, or alternatively in the constitution; both of which are linked below.

Motions
Motions are submitted by members to suggest changes to the policy of the Student Radio Association. At the AGM, any motions that have been submitted will be discussed, and then voted upon. If over 50% of the voters present vote in favour of a motion, it becomes policy and is then attached to the constitution.
Each motion will be introduced with a speech from the person who proposed it; if applicable there will then be a first speech against the motion. There may be further speeches for and against the motion at the discretion of the chair. There will then be an opportunity for questions, which will be directed by the Chair, and then summaries for and against the motion. Finaly the motion will go to a vote, with a 50% + 1 consensus required to secure a successful motion.
Motions are structured as follows:
Section 1 - The SRA Notes:
-
In this section the proposer will highlight factual information relevant to the policy being proposed.
Section 2 - The SRA Believes:
- In this section the proposer will highlight the stance that they believe the SRA should take on an issue, in relation to the facts presented in section 1 of the motion.
Section 3 - The SRA Resolves:
- The final section will highlight the steps that the poposer believe the organisation needs to take to meet the beliefs presented in section 2 of the motion. Any resolutions listed in this section will become policy of the Student Radio Association.
