Dan's Report For November 2009

Events Officer Update November 2009: Full Story

As you can imagine, much of my November was taken up with the Student Radio Awards. Leading up to the big day I was in almost constant contact with the venue, sponsors, production and catering companies and the rest of the exec to ensure that the night ran as smoothly as possible. Special thanks must go to all of the exec, Chris North at Wise Buddah and Matt Deegan and Helen Grimes on behalf of ASRA for their invaluable assistance in making the Awards such a great event this year.

All the feedback I have received from both students and the industry has been overwhelmingly positive and many of you have personally told me it was the best awards yet, which is fantastic to hear. It was great to see so many of you sticking around until the end enjoying the debut 'Radio vs Radio Soundclash'! I am currently liaising with the Indigo2 to ensure that we secure the venue for the 2010 Awards. If you have any feedback about the Awards, please do feel free to contact me.

After taking a short break, I am also at the initial stages of organising the National Student Radio Conference 2010, hosted by Fly FM at Nottingham Trent University between 29th-31st March. Watch this space for more information soon, and if you have any ideas of what you would like to see at next year's Conference, do let me know.

I have also been assisting stations where I can with any Events they may be holding. I'd like to take this opportunity to invite any stations who are needing a hand with organising their own events to drop me a line, and I'd be glad to be of help.
