Until the 2012 National Student Radio Conference in Bradford

York University
We're the oldest legal independent radio station in the UK. Broadcasting to over 13,000 students (including across York's recent expansion) we have continual...
For the last couple of years I've been involved in the Student Radio Association I've seen it transform a very large amount.
Its gone from an organisation putting on a couple of events a year into a massive supportive group representing student radio across the whole UK and helping everyone involved in this community to develop various skills and get that step up into the radio industry and world of employment.
This is greatly to do with the hard work and determination of all I have worked alongside over the last few years. I give my special thanks to all who have worked so hard to get the SRA to this prime stage in its existence.
I will miss working alongside the likes of Sarah, Matt, Mark, Tim, Kate, Bam, Heather, Nikki, Ian, Dan and Sejal who have made my job as marketing officer and chair not only enjoyable but also highly productive for the organisation.
I wish the incoming exec and officers the best of luck and I know they will find many ways to move the SRA forward over the next year whether they are new or continuing their dedication to improving and progressing student radio.
And one last thank you - to all of you I have met from student radio stations across the UK. You have so much passion for the medium and you keep the community of student radio alive and without you, it would not have been possible to do all the things we have done.
I wish you all the best with all your stations, the future of student radio, and of course best of luck if you are entering the awards this year.
