The National Union of Students (NUS) is teaming up with Amnesty International UK to hold a two-day summit focused on student media in the Human Rights Action Centre, London.
Day 1:
This day will give you the opportunity to hear from leading practitioners about some of the issues that affect today's journalists and to generate content for your own outlets.
Experts and professionals will discuss journalistic and human rights issues in speeches and panel debates and you will have a chance to field your own questions and to conduct one-on-one interviews with some of the speakers.
Day 2:
You can choose from a series of workshops taught by experts in the field and helping improve your editorial and journalistic skills. This years sessions will include:
- Students Media and the Law
- New Media
- Interview Skills
- Reporting on Campus
- Advertising Revenue
- Writing for the Web
There will also be plenty of opportunity for networking and informal socialising on both days so that you can meet fellow student journalists and learn from each other.
The event is open to anyone involved in student media however places are limited. There is a £5 charge per person to register for the event to help cover costs.
