

La Roux are an English electropop and synthpop duo formed in 2008 in London, England, UK, made up of singer/synth player Elly Jackson (born 12 March 1988) and co-writer/co-producer Ben Langmaid. Their music is largely influenced by 80s pop music including Eurythmics, Depeche Mode, The Human League, Heaven 17, Yazoo and Prince. The name La Roux (pronounced lah-roo) is reported to be chosen when Elly found it in a book of baby names. La Roux comes from the French for "red-haired one", referring to Jackson's distinctive hairstyle.

Kesha Rose Sebert (born March 1, 1987 in Los Angeles, United States), better known mononymously as Kesha (stylized as Ke$ha or K$), is an American recording artist. An active singer since before 2005, her breakthrough came in early 2009 after appearing on Flo Rida's number one single Right Round. Ke$ha later supported Calvin Harris on tour in the UK and toured with Mickey Avalon in the US. She also performed at Madison Square Garden on December 11, 2009 for the Z100 Jingle Ball. She was announced as one of the acts for the 2010 revival of Lilith Fair and presented at the 52nd Grammy Awards.

Ladytron are an electropop and new wave band formed in 1999 at Liverpool, UK by Helen Marnie (vocals, synths), Mira Aroyo (vocals, synths), Reuben Wu (synths), and Daniel Hunt (synths, guitar). All four members are songwriters, producers, and remixers. Hunt, Wu, and Aroyo sometimes perform DJ sets on their own. The band history begins in the summer of 1999, when Liverpool musicians and DJs, Reuben Wu and Daniel Hunt met the Glaswegian Helen Marnie and Bulgarian-born and Oxford graduate Mira Aroyo.

Phillipa 'Pip' Brown (born in 1979, Masterton, Wairarapa, New Zealand), better known by her stage name Ladyhawke, is a solo singer-songwriter and multi-instrumentalist, playing all the instruments in studio and touring with a band. Her musical style blends new wave, indie rock and electropop. Born with Asperger's Syndrome, Pip was a music-obsessed child with very musical parents (step-father a drummer, mother a singer). She is noted as being influenced by 70s and 80s music. While attending Chanel College, she played in several grunge bands.

Miike Snow is an electropop band from Stockholm, Sweden formed in 2007, consisting of American songwriter Andrew Wyatt and Swedish producers Christian Karlsson and Pontus Winnberg. Their eponymous debut album was released in 2009 to much critical acclaim, with the lead single 'Animal' appearing on shows such as Gossip Girl. While you may not have recognized Karlsson and Winberg by their full names, you have surely heard their work as production duo Bloodshy & Avant.
