Over the Summer, the SRA and radio presenter, Vicki Blight, visited a London College to give them a taste of radio!

VOX Radio, currently running out of Lambeth College, London, hosted an open day for radio enthusiasts to find out more about their radio production course.

The station, which broadcasts every Thursday during term time on the college intranet, was delighted to welcome Sarah Ghost, Membership & Communications Officer for the Student Radio Association, and Vicki Blight, presenter on Absolute Radio, along to talk to the students.

Talks ranged from the benefits of taking the radio production course, routes into radio, how the SRA can help stations such as VOX and how students on the course can get involved in the wider student radio arena.

Sarah said: “Meeting smaller, more unusual stations such as VOX Radio is extremely important to the SRA. We want to be a visible presence for stations across the UK, so that if they ever have a problem, want to discuss an idea or want someone to come along and help them train their members, they have the SRA to turn to. We are extremely proud to have been asked along on this occasion to speak to the members of VOX Radio and wish them all the success for the future.”
