On 25th February Jam Radio at the University of Hull will be teaming up with BBC Humberside in order to raise money for St. Andrew’s Hospice in Grimsby and to tie in with BBC Humberside’s Candlelight Appeal.

A number of events, planned by Jam Radio and Hull University Union Sabbaticals, are planned throughout the day that are aimed to showcase and promote the work of Jam Radio, Hull University Union and all the socieities and individual members of HUU.

The action will start with a sponsored relay race across The Humber Bridge at 08.30, which will coincide with a Jam Radio breakfast show in the shadows of the bridge. The events will then move in to the centre of Hull with a special broadcast taking place in Princes Quay shopping centre, where various challenges will be executed by various students in order to attract donations from the general public, and wing up with a joint broadcast with Jam Radio and BBC Humberside to cover a special talent show at HUU’s own nightclub, Asylum, aimed to promote the diversity and work that the students at Hull University have, ranging from Urban culture and fashion through to dance routines and a fancy dress competition.

This 24 hour student focused campaign will end the following morning when Jam Radio will be present and alongside the regular BBC Humberside Breakfast show.
