After a record breaking year, Spark FM; the North East’s Best Radio station is ready to welcome the new year with a new look, a new sound and the launch of our all new Magazine, exclusively for young people in Sunderland.

On Monday 30th January, A new look, exciting new features and some all new exclusive content will soon be available to enhance your online experience at You’ll be able to get to know our presenters, listen again to some of your favourite shows with Spark Replay and learn more about the music and artists we play on Spark FM. All the best features from the old website are still there along with lots of other new features.

We’re making it even easier for you to listen back to your favourite shows with our new OnDemand service ‘SparkReplay’. We’ll be introducing more shows to Replay in the near future as well as integrating a more immersive music experience so you can learn more about the diverse range of music we play. We’re also developing smartphone apps for iPhone and Android allowing users to access our content wherever they are and listen to SparkFM even if you’re out of our coverage area. The ability to connect with our presenters will also play a major role in our complete overall of our online service.

Also THIS FRIDAY our new look online magazine will be launching it’s first issue. Jam packed full of music, entertainment, fashion, health, sport, lifestyle, technology and much much more, with a unique witty outlook and a strong Sunderland focus. A talented team of writers and contributors have conjured up a variety of articles features and stories for the first edition which will be available to download online at 9am on Friday. Although Spark Magazine has existed in the form of online articles since 2010, this will be the first time the articles will appear in a full magazine layout available to view and download online. Content from Magazine is intended to supplement the content broadcasting on FM and from our online TV station SparkTV.
