Officer Elections took place at the National Student Radio Conference in Bradford. Find out who will be running your SRA next year…


Elections of Executive and Regional Officers for the 2012 / 2013 year took place at the recent National Student Radio Conference, held at the University of Bradford.

During the AGM, nominees were given an opportunity to tell members why they should be elected, and answer questions relating to their manifestos.

The results were as follows:


Fred Bradley – 29

Re-open Nominations  – 5

Fred Bradley was duly re-elected to the position of Chair for his second term of office.

Events Officer

Chelsea Dickenson – 28

Vinesh Patel – 5

Re-open Nominations – 0

Abstain – 1

Chelsea Dickenson was duly elected to the position of Events Officer. Chelsea originates from Fuse FM at Manchester University, and has spent the past year as North West & North Wales Regional Officer for the SRA.

Development Officer

Lee Sevenoaks – 15

Robin Murphy – 13

Michael Whitehouse – 3

Steph Robson – 1

Re-open Nominations – 1

Abstain – 1

Lee Sevenoaks was duly re-elected to the position of Development Officer for his second term of office.

Membership & Communications Officer

Emma Bradshaw – 34

Re-open Nominations – 0

Emma Bradshaw was duly elected to the position of Membership & Communications Officer. Emma joins the SRA from URN 1350 at the University of Nottingham where she is currently Head of Daytime.

South East Regional Officer

Mel Lewis – 6

Ryan Hunter – 2

Mel Lewis was duly elected to the position of South East Regional Officer.

The following Regional Officer positions were uncontested and thus elected by default under clause 10.5 of the Student Radio Association Constitution & Articles of Association:

South West & South Wales Regional Officer – Richard Queree

Scotland Regional Officer – Callum Clark

The current SRA Exec team would like to congratulate all of the successful nominees, and thank everybody who stood for election. The new Officers will take up their positions from 1 July 2012.
