University Radio York‘s audio drama ‘Trimble’ has been nominated for a BBC Audio Drama Award 2014. The BBC Audio Drama Award nominations have been announced, and in amongst a star-studded cast of nominees including Lacey Turner and Benedict Cumberbatch is a piece from student radio. URY (University Radio York) have been nominated for Best Online and Non-Broadcast Drama for Trimble, a piece of audio that also won at the Student Radio Awards in November 2013 in the Best Speech category.

This year’s winners will be announced at a ceremony on the 26th January at the BBC’s Radio Theatre, hosted by Director General Tony Hall and Lenny Henry.

The nominations and winning entries have been judged by a panel that included Ruth Jones from Gavin and Stacey, theatre director Nicholas Kent, playright Nick Dear, Imogen Stubbs and Stephen Tompkinson.
