For the past two years we have teamed up with Folded Wing and the British Council to run the SRA Selector initiative and we are delighted to welcome it back for the third year in 2016!

This is your chance to be one of six people presenting your own version of The Selector on your student station between January-April 2016. The six chosen students will be announced at the Student Radio Awards, supported by BBC Radio 1 and Global on Thursday 5th November.

Each of the six chosen students will:

  • Be given a special Kit version of The Selector containing all the individual parts of the show (songs, jingles, sessions, interviews, plus a script). This will enable you to produce and present your own bespoke version of The Selector on your student radio station.
  • Receive an in-depth two day radio production and presenting training session on 26th & 27th November at Folded Wing
  • Interview (and be interviewed by) The Selector’s presenter Goldierocks for a special SRA feature to be broadcast on The Selector.

If this hasn’t persuaded you yet, did we mention that the two previous winners of The Selector, Jack Saunders and Ross Buchanan, now present on the newly formed Radio X?

For more information and for the application form, head to Folded Wing’s blog.

The deadline for applications is Monday the 26th October. Best of luck!
