This year’s dates are Wednesday 30th March – Friday 1st April and it’s being held at Cardiff University with Xpress Radio.
In case you have never been to conference before or want to know a little bit more about what it’s all about, it’s essentially three days of fully-fledged radio-geekiness, combined with two nights out, combined with staying in hotels with your friends, combined with a chance to meet with industry professionals.
There’ll be a mixture of keynote talks (previously we’ve had the likes of BBC Radio 1’s Scott Mills and Greg James, Global’s Ashley Tabor and Nick Ferrari and many more), workshops and smaller breakout sessions, and we go through everything from presenting to producing to the latest in radio technology, to imaging, to podcasting, comedy, sport, journalism, station management… and pretty much any topic you can think of!
We also have lots of evening entertainment, including two big nights out and:
If you want to be a presenter, but need some hints and tips as to how to improve your demo and want to know what radio execs think when they listen to it – Demo Factor is for you! Think a cross between X Factor and radio – the judges, the hosts, the OTT drama – it’s all there.
I Love Student Radio Awards
A gala dinner, posh frocks, suits and ties, and a whole award ceremony celebrating the most dedicated and charitable people in student radio. Nominated by yourselves and judged by a selection of industry people, it’s a really feel-good night and a chance to put the people who work tirelessly behind the scenes in the limelight.
Ok, so I hope I’ve given an overview of what conference is all about! We’ve set up loads of payment options for you this year, but some of them are only available for the next week or so, so make sure you get in there quickly! Get your tickets here and look at our payment plans.
Member – Accommodated – Access to everything at conference. Meals all included. Accommodation is in hotels this year, mostly in twin rooms. Rooms are not assigned randomly – we keep stations within the same hotel.
Member – Non-accommodated – Access to everything at conference, all meals included apart from breakfast.
Non-Member (Accommodated and non-accommodated) – Same as above, BUT if you graduated in 2015, you are still counted as a member. Anything before this is considered as a non-member.
Payment Plan – Pay in three installments of £50 to spread the cost. Only available for member accommodated tickets. First payment must be made by 31st January, so be quick with this one!
Finally, over the next couple of weeks, we will be opening applications for:
– Demo Factor entries
– I Love Student Radio entries and nominations
– Podcasting applications (we like to record the best bits of conference – and need a few volunteers to help us with this!)
