Wanted: Broadcast and Systems Support Engineers

Wireless Group (GB) is one of the largest radio groups in the UK, with market leading local stations in England and Wales. They also own the national station talkSPORT and UK’s leading sports magazine, Sport, as well as being a leading operator of DAB digital radio multiplexes throughout Great Britain, and have recently launched three new national radio stations.

As a result of their recent launches, exciting opportunities have arisen to join the Technology Department at their London location. Wireless Group are looking for enthusiastic people to join the team as a member of the department looking after talkSPORT and the new talkPORT2, talkRADIO and Virgin Radio services.

The technology team support all aspects of the technical systems used to produce these services, ranging from studio equipment and system maintenance to IT desktop support.

Main responsibilities are listed below:

  • Maintain and support all broadcast technical equipment.
  • Maintain and support all IT equipment.
  • Maintain accurate up-to-date technical records
  • Prepare and test Outside Broadcast equipment ready for use
  • Attend Outside Broadcasts to provide technical assistance when required

The post involves shift working (not nights at present), and to be available on-call as part of a rota.

Knowledge and experience of audio engineering and/or electronic engineering and IT support would be desirable.
