Magic is looking for a Social & Digital Assistant Producer to join the team and implement the Social & Digital strategy to build the Magic brand, increase awareness and drive listening through social media. This is an entry level position perfect for graduates of student radio.

Reporting to the Social & Digital Manager, the candidate will write and create social content and where appropriate create end-point content on; moderate Magic’s social channels and respond to audience enquiries; drive more engagement and connection between the social channels and the on-air programming.

Main Duties and Key Reponsibilities

  • Implement Magic’s social media strategy
  • Publish relevant content created by the Bauer editorial team to Magic’s social channels and website
  • Create up-to-date, shareable, on-brand content for Facebook, Twitter and other social channels
  • Write, edit, tag and upload text content to social and web
  • Assist in the creation of ‘evergreen’ social content
  • Scheduling social posts
  • Work with programme teams to create social and digital content
  • Monitor and moderate audience interaction on social networks
  • Ensure that the promotion of content across website homepages, landing pages and other promotional spots is kept relevant and up-to-date, and in-line with the company’s marketing/promotional plans.
  • Record, edit, tag and upload audio content to social and web
  • Edit, tag and upload video content to social and web
  • Photograph, edit, tag and upload picture content to social and web
  • Assist ad-ops to get advertising campaigns live where necessary
  • Be available to work outside office hours to monitor social feeds
  • Be available to work outside office hours to support occasional events such as outside broadcasts
  • Ensure that prizes are managed and sent out without delay

Key Competencies

  • A strong understanding of social networks and online communities
  • Strong writing skills and English to at least GCSE level
  • Experience of using design software (eg Photoshop) and willingness to develop these skills to professional level
  • Audio editing skills would be an advantage, willingness to learn essential
  • Video editing skills would be an advantage, willingness to learn essential
  • Demonstrates a creative flair
  • An understanding of how ‘live’ websites work (content management systems, etc)
  • An interest in radio and broadcasting
  • Strong communications skills and be able to communicate well with management and peers
  • A confident communicator with the ability to turn ideas into practical solutions
