If you’re into your indie and alternative music, Jack Saunders, who began presenting radio during his time at Fly FM, hosts his first new music show on BBC Radio 1 tonight.

Tonight Jack Saunders will begin presenting his new weeknights music show on BBC Radio 1 tonight, with a focus on rock, alternative and indie music and supporting emerging music artists. What an achievement! 👏

The show follows on from Huw Stephens, who is moving to a new Sunday BBC Music Introducing slot.

During his time at Fly FM (Nottingham Trent), Jack was the station manager and helped bring success for Fly, with the station winning 5 Gold awards and 1 Bronze award at the Student Radio Awards 2013 supported by BBC Radio 1 and Global.

From there, Jack presented shows on Kerrang! Radio and landed the midmorning slot on Radio X.

He recently spoke to BBC Radio 1’s Chris Stark on his Friday podcast about the call he got from BBC Radio 1, offering him the slot. He said it had been his dream his whole life and the best moment of his life so far. Student radio dreams really do come true!

You can listen to the launch of Jack Saunders’ new music show on BBC Radio 1 from 11pm-1am tonight. The SRA wishes you the best of luck, Jack!
