From Durham to Cardiff, Northern Ireland to Southhampton, hundreds of you entered the Student Radio Awards 2019 supported by BBC Radio 1 and Global, and now the time has almost come to announce who has made the shortlist for this year’s ceremony!

Presenters from Global will make the announcements on Wednesday October 9th at 12pm, sharp, in nine regional venues around the country. Nominations will be released on Twitter shortly afterwards, and then on this website later in the evening.

It’s not all about the noms. Our Regional Officers have been working hard to organise training days within the nine regions so you can learn more about radio, improve your output, and hear from the professionals.

Here are the venues and events for our regional training days and nominations parties this year:

South – Solent University host by Radio Sonar

London and South East Anglia – Goldsmiths, University of London hosted by Wired Radio

South West and South Wales – Cardiff University by Xpress Radio

Midlands – University of Warwick hosted by RAW 1251AM

North West and North Wales –  University of Chester hosted by The Cat Radio

Yorkshire – University of York hosted by URY

North East – Durham University hosted by Purple Radio

Scotland – Fife College hosted by Boom Radio

Northern Ireland – BBC NI Broadcasting House

Remember to click attending, and check the group wall for updates and news from your Regional Officer.

The #SRADay is free for all to attend. If you have questions about joining the SRA then please get in touch with our Development Officer.

Best of luck on Wednesday if you have entered! Remember to tag your tweets on the night with @SRA and use the hashtag #SRAs. The winners of the Student Radio Awards 2019 supported by BBC Radio 1 and Global will be announced at our star-studded ceremony on Thursday 7th November 2019.

Tickets are on sale now.

See you there!
