Bringing their perfect harmonies to our Class of 2020 supported by Painting Pixels are the terrific love-letter to the flavour of 90s R&B, three-piece 303.
The girl-group formed on March 3rd 2017, hence the name 303. Comprised of London duo Lo & Maddie and Chloe who joined the group from Newcastle, they have been blessing student radio with sweet and smooth records this past year. And it’s only right they join our Class of 2020.
Debut track Whisper has so much charisma, finding room for all three girls to shine and show off their range and harmonies. Someone Else followed for us, which has one of the biggest sing-a-long choruses we’ve had in student radio this past year.
The girls have also absolutely nailed the style of the great 90s girl groups too, already adding fun choreography and classic fashion style to the mix of what they do as a group. However, despite looking back, they deliver their music in a modern fashion, which makes them really unique in the UK musical landscape.
In May this year, the group joined us in Brighton over The Great Escape weekend to play a set for us on the beach-front. It left the audience and our production staff in awe at how great the group are.
The consensus from us and our team is that 303 have so far, been our new music discovery secret and it’s only a matter of time before they really blow up. With plenty of support on the likes of Radio 1Xtra including performing an acapella freestyle of one of my personal favourite R&B records ever, Jade’s Don’t Walk Away, their future is certainly bright. And we can’t wait to be a part of that.
