You may remember back in October that BBC Radio 1 put out the call for presenters asking for submissions from anyone with previous radio experience, be it in community, hospital, student or local radio.
This morning they’ve revealed the all-new schedule of guest presenters set to take over the airwaves across the festive period. From Boxing Day until New Year’s Eve, the station will be showcasing the best in new and emerging talent, giving 35 new DJs and presenters a once in a lifetime opportunity to broadcast on the UK’s biggest youth radio station.
It’s incredible to see so many names we recognise from student radio amongst the 35 new DJs and presenters! They now have the chance to follow in the footsteps of the station’s current DJs including Greg James, Jack Saunders, Abbie McCarthy and Sophie K who all started out presenting on student stations!
We’re here to highlight the amazing 14 that have a background in student radio and come from your very own stations…
Taking over on Early Breakfast we have… Gabriel Green, Joe Pilbrow, Holly Palmer, Rhys Gunter and Kaylee Golding ALL from Smoke Radio!
Could she take over from Greg James? Henrie Kwushue from Leeds Student Radio is waking you up over Christmas!
