I have been speaking to a lot of people recently about the cost of the tickets for the ball. While many recognise that the price difference is marginal on last year, they have been rather sensible around seeking assistance in paying for their tickets.

One group of students went to their Union representative (sabbatical officer) and requested a subsidy be paid by the Union. Given the career development opportunities that are available as a direct result of attendance at the awards, they were able to convince their sab. to stump up half the cost of their tickets.

I will not go into who and where this happened, as it is not that helpful to identify them. However, it is useful to recognise that these opportunities are available to all of us and should be siezed whenever possible.
